The central idea of running therapy is to improve your psychological condition by means of running. If you feel stressed, depressed or apathetic, running will contribute to a structural reduction of these problems.
Objective of the course is to offer running as a contribution to mental and psychological wellbeing! As one of the tools to deal with work stress and to avoid burn-out problems.
More and more evidence is found that a healthy lifestyle can contribute to avoid burn-out. Sufficient sleep/rest, healthy nutrition and regular exercise form an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Running is by no means the only form of exercise that may help. But it is useful, because you can do it anywhere, and at anytime, without (expensive) membership fees and attributes.
The course consists of a 5-week period, with 3 running sessions per week. Two supervised and one unsupervised. The running time/distance will be built up in a responsible way, in order to prevent overuse injuries.
