Yoga Leeuwarden

Find tranquility with this passive, deep, and slow class focused on recovery, relaxation, and serenity. The class has a meditative and mindful character. This session combines two forms of yoga: Yin and Restorative yoga.

 

Primarily, we engage in various 'Yin' poses, holding deeper stretching positions for several minutes, allowing you to stretch the deeper layers of your body, such as (stiff) muscle layers, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments.

The liquid parts in the body promote better blood flow to the joints, making them more nourished, softer, more flexible, and fluid. Remaining in one position for an extended period can sometimes be quite challenging.

 

In 'Restorative' yoga, we support ourselves in yoga poses using various props such as blankets and pillows. These are intended for recovery and deep rest, and we are not seeking stretching as in Yin yoga.

 

This class mainly includes seated and lying poses along with accessible breathing exercises.

This yoga form is proven to be therapeutic for the body, as well as for our busy minds and hearts.

 

Everyone ultimately benefits from slowing down, being still, turning inward, and resting in this busy world. This shift allows our nervous system to transition from the stress mode to relaxation. It provides Prana (life energy) the opportunity to flow freely through the body and meridians, releasing resistance and patterns in the body and mind. The exercises do the work for you; you just need to be present.

 

This class is also very suitable during pregnancy and for various conditions or ailments, but please inform us in advance so that the teacher can provide additional support if needed."
